Hello, we’re the Evans family. We relocated to Ludlow from West Norfolk, near the market town of Kings Lynn, to run the Broad Bean and provide a friendly and relaxed shopping experience to anyone looking for delicious, affordable and interesting food and produce.
Originally from Rhondda in South Wales, until recently Ian was a butcher in a small village on the Sandringham Estate, serving the community and, more unusually, the Royal Family on their numerous visits to Norfolk…yes he prepared the meat for the Royal Family’s Christmas dinner! He’s dedicated to providing great customer service, locally sourced produce and fantastic meat – be it chorizo, ham or salami!
Alice brings drive and bags of enthusiasm from over a decade teaching within the special needs sector. Her sweet tooth will ensure the goodies we stock have a personal seal of approval and her friendly approach to customer service means that anyone greeted by her is in for a treat.
Lola and Martha
You may see our daughters ‘helping’ out around the shop on weekends and during school holidays. Both love cooking, especially cakes and biscuits, and will happily share stories about times when they met the Queen or how much they love dancing. You may even be lucky enough to hear Martha ‘sing’ one of her favourite songs, and witness Lola pirouetting through the shop.
We are a family, and we aim to bring a family welcome to all who come through the door. Everyone will get the same Evans reception, helping you have a comfortable and relaxed shopping experience – whether you’re looking for something in particular, or just browsing.
